Interesting Facts
One of the most remarkable features of sockeye is a phenomenon called cyclic dominance. In many of the lakes of the Fraser River in particular, sockeye are abundant in one of every four years.
The chinook is the largest of the Pacific salmon species, the world record standing at 57.27 kilograms (126 pounds).
